I actually have the answer: just holding down the MENU button until it clears. Mine came on in the morning after a power cut. Other websites gave the wrong advice and one even wanted to charge me £18 if an 'expert' could answer me correctly. Do your bit for world peace - spread your knowledge for free!

super answer, just spent40 mins searching internet, and your answer was 100% correct. And yes, some sites wanted 20francs to give me an incorrect answer (press start button for 5 seconds).
