changing glow plugs mercedez 316 x reg?

could i change myown glow plugs,or is it a big job?

van is hard to start in cold weather also the glow plug light somtimes stays on or goes off???

you will have to remove engine top cover,that will give you direct access onto the plugs .the plugs are situated just above the manifold. they can cause problems on removal due to carbon build up .can you tell me the purpose of the replacement .in most cases the relay can be at fault,

thanks for replying but I can,t even see them in the sprinter van because of the manifold,there doesent seem to be much space from above.

no you can diy but do you possess the correct tools for the task in hand?, simply remove wiring/bank assembly and with a suitable socket remove heater plugs.just make sure you can get onto the plugs at the correct angle, the last thing you want is any of the plugs shearing.
