Vauxhall Meriva. resetting of inspection reminder?

1.3 tdi energy 57 reg. Display shows insp due 0 miles.
How can I reset it? Pressing trip meter button then switching on the ignition, as recommended in Haynes manual, does not work.

Thanks SD. Yes I am. The manual says that before starting, the 'trip' miles should be shown. Mine shows total miles AND trip miles. Also when the ignition is switched on the word 'insp' flashes and ----- appear underneath. After 20 secs or so nothing changes, and when I switch off the ignition, it still shows insp 0 miles.

Are you holding the trip button in as you switch on, Holding in until it flashes, is usual way,
