How can I fix the contrast issue on my Goodmans GTV76W3?

Basically, the contrast level has a mind of its own. eg: a static shot, a person sitting in front of a window - when they move, the contrast drops to compensate for the shft in light level. It's EXTREMELY annoying. I know how to get into the service menu, is this some kind of mode I can turn off or am I just lumbered with an atrociously designed TV?

To access the service menu, press the menu button on the remote, then press 4725. I actually worked out through a process of elimination that the setting I needed to change was APR. It has a range of 0-15 and was set around 3 I believe. When you push it to 15 the problem I described went away. Out of interest though, do you know what APR stands for? Also, I want to tweak the geometry settings, basically want to pull the picture in a bit at the sides so I don't lose onscreen text with NTSC sources, and also move it a couple of clicks to the right. Any ideas how I can do this in this menu? It's a lot more complex than my old Goodmans! [should have learned my lesson really!]

How do you access the service menu on the GTV76W3? Most TV's have a mode similar to what you are suggesting - it usually controls how far the image is 'pushed' outside the underscan of the TV. I also have the same problem, but cannot access the service menu - can you tell me how? I'll let you know what the name of the menu option to change is, just incase you're not sure. Either way, if you could let me know how to access the service menu, I'd deeply appriciate it - thanks.
