Replacing power lead - Dyson Absolute?

The power cable to My Dyson is damaged close to the housing for the on/off switch. I cannot see how the switch can be extracted from its housing without breaking it! Any ideas?

Gently prise the on/off button off with a very thin screwdriver, (screwdriver on side near to tools), there is a screw underneath
