How can I fix Morphy Richards Elite 42284 steam iron steam problem ?

I have recently noticed reduced steam emerging from iron and some steam coming out from the base unit. There are some chalky deposits on soleplate steam holes too. I have tried using 50/50 vinegar/water solution once. Please advise any other remedies.
