my speedo has stopped working, kawasaki zr400?

my speedo stopped working suddenly on the way home last night. any ideas what could be wrong / how to fix? also the light inside my rev counter is not working, is this easy to fix / replace?

Adam, many thanks. i have removed the cable and yes, it has snapped a couple of inches in.

the speedo will be the cable that has snapped inside more than likely and the bulbs in the revs counter are probably just blown just replace them
