power trips off when switched on?

we have just been re wired and an RCD has been installed.
The machine worked fine before this,but now it trips after about 30 seconds.The electrician says it must be a fault on the machine.It is only 2years old and has had small usage

if your rcd trips only when you use that certain appliance, this means it has an earth fault. it may have had it for some time but rcd's are very sensitive.

Don't be fooled by the sparky (electrician).
Tell him to get off his butt and fix the problem, as you could have an electrical fire anytime, worst thing to happen if everybody is asleep.

If the sparky insists the problem is the RCD then do the following:

Take the RCD back to where it was purchased and ask for an exchange or get it tested.

If the problem persists thereafter then report the sparky to:
