Lowe's Riding Mower won't shift?

I replaced the drive belt on my Lowe's 16 horsepower riding lawnmower, model 135M679G062, and now it won't shift. What do I need to do? I would also like to have a systematic diagram of the lawnmower's working gears and springs. Where can I get one?

Your tractor was made in 1995 by MTD
You can see the parts diagrams at MTD's web site. Copy and paste this entire link into your address bar:

http://mtd.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=MTDC&lang=EN&TF=Mainframe&loginID=MTDCon%20&LoginPWD=

On that page under "Search Brand" select "Yard Machines" Then enter you model number in the box. That will get you to all the Illistrated Parts Lists for your mower.

You'll probably find that your new belt is either too short, or mis-routed.
