engine stop light flashing and glow plug dash warning lights on?

Hi I have vauxhall vivaro 03 1.9dti, drove home from work last night and the glow plug/elec dash warning light came on with engine stop light flashing next to it engine just cut out, engine will not start called out road side assistance only to be told no fuel was getting to the fuel filter as anyone got any info on this please help.
