Singer 1425. The machine only sews in reverse, tried holding the reverse (hoping it would sew forward, it only sewed in reverse)

could be just a problem of to little oil not so often that get the reverse unit stuck,try some oil but if that does not work it could be a loose or broken feed cam or feed balance out of sync,a job where a little experience is needed
