i have just bought a 306 and took it for a mot and it failed because the abs light does not come on when turning on the ignition how do i fix this ,i had the drivers side front strut off to change the spring could this have something to do with it

you will find that the person you bought the car from had removed the bulb from behind the instrument panel so that it does not light up when ignition turn on (this is a common trick to hide electrical problems). if ABS light stays on when ignition switched on it means that the ABS is not working. was it lit before you changed strut? take car for a run and slam on the brakes and see if the wheels lock up if they do lock up the ABS is not working. take car to a good independant peugeot garage and good luck.
