my peugeot 307 wont start?

hi i have a 52 plate 307 2.0l petrol and it randomly wont start.theres a red light flashing on the central looking button inside on the dash.It turns over but wont fire.Iv took it to a a garage but they cant seem to find the fault.any ideas?
