Peugeot 406 estate heater fan ?

The heater fan is full on. The fan control switch selects the speed on the indicator but the fan continues full on. heater controls work ok.

sounds like the reostat to control speed as burnt out .they are fit inside the heater tubes on most peugeots and are just a twist out and replace.on 206 are £25 on 307 £50 never done a 406
