My hotpoint Aquarius tumble dryer VTD60 drum stopped spinning ?

So I took the back off to find the belt had snapped but also found that the nut on back of drum was loose. Basically the spindle part of it has been ground away by rotation of drum can I replace this part? Also how am I to fit the belt?

Hi this time the shaft has cut into the metal of the piece that holds the shaft in place. Any ideas as to why its done this and how I can sort it? Many thanks

yes you can replace, comes as a shaft kit, which includes bearings and seals etc, hotpoint part numbers are shaft kit 1703080, belt 1703666. belt is very tight to fit and is done by removing side panel which you'll have to do anyway to remove the drum good luck
