Panasonic DVD Recorder - Model No. DMR-EX75EB

I can not operate any of the functions on the above machine . Also not responding are the guild, navigator and all of the HDD control buttons, There is a 'HDD ERROR' message and if I try to use the disc player the error message changes to 'NO FVN' or that could be 'NO FUN'.
Also there is a constant clicking noise when the stand by is on.
I have tried turning it off & back on and also turning off & unplugging it for 30 mins, but no joy. Can any one please help
