Thomson Recorder Box has lost channels on tv guide, hence cannot record?

Thomson box tv guide seems to have lost many channels. I have scanned the box several times with no changes. Cannot record these channels as they are not showing. Any suggestions please?

Press menu, 4, 2, 9. If its using the 14 day extended guide, press the right or left green navigate button. You will have to choose to go to the 8 day guide. After its done this, reboot the box (switch off the mains, wait one minute, switch back on.). You will lose ALL the planned recordings. (Not what you have recorded on the drive.) Repeat the above and revert to the 14 day extended guide.
If your box is on the 8 day guide originally, use the above anyway as you may then regain the lost channels. If they dont come back rescan WITHOUT the aerial connected. When its finished, it`ll say no aerial connected, switch off with remote. If it will not switch off, use the wall socket switch. Wait 1 minute and switch on, reboot, rescan. This should solve the problem. If not check the aerial plug in the back, it may be loose. Or the aerial may need replacing. Good luck
