by looking underneath it seems to be leaking from front passenger side where the drive shaft enters the gearbox, on a 1998 citroen berlingo 1.9 diesel then running down to drip off what looks like a sump plug, what sort of seal has gone and what sort of garage bill would cost

probably driveshaft seal into g/box which entails removal of d/shaft.I would think a seal will cost no more than a fiver + top up oil and maybe an hours labour depending on your garage hourly rate
