yamaha jog rr 2005 wont start?

My joG RR 2005 wasa Ok. I tried to start it today and it started for a second then cut out and now will not start. I have taken out the spark plug and cleaned it up but still nothing. Can anyone advise.

Did you actually earth the sparkplug off the bike to see if it was sparking? This could just simply be a new s/plug replacement.
