Replacing lamp socket?

Is there any way to replace the lamp socket and bulb on B&H 466A projector with one that is a better bulb and more readily available? The OEM one is the DLH and most sites (if you can find it ) are near 100 dollars. I saw on one forum a person was going to do this but gave no procedures or Part numbers for the items to do it.

Anything is possible. You 1st need to know the voltage of the lamp, and then its wattage. Find the type of lamp that you want to use. Find a socket for it. Then just change it, May or may not need some modification to fit the socket, but most are via 2 screws. Not very difficult.
