it may not be your steering,would jack up and support with stands and check all steering joints for play,a/roll bar links and mounting bushes,all suspension struts/lower arms and bushes/balljoints,loose wheel nuts,if you are only getting the knocking on full lock then your driveshafts/cv joints may need looked at also,good luck
