Any Ideas on how to fix my whirlpool awm 321?

During the final rince/spin cycles the machine stops and the timer motor also stops. advancing the controller 1 click will set the machine off again but the problem repeats itself a few mins later. it is as if it is waiting for a signal or something as it does during the heating period where it will wait until the desired temp is attained

Hi. Is there any way of getting a new 'control switch / wheel'? and fitting it or is this worth it

I had exactly the same problem as you. I checked the pressure switch, it was OK.

Then I turned the whole washing machine to its side and disconnected the big fat black pipe coming out of the washing machine’s drainage, before the pump, found a small handkerchief.

This solved the problem.

This problem is due to a poor drainage system that is typical of this model, mine has been doing it for years, (began after it was about 3 years old,) and has now failed completely because of an unrelated door closing issue. I had it serviced for the draining fault once but it came back within 2 months.
Only workaround is to keep turning it to (E)-drain or tip the water out the front, I'm off to buy another now and it wont be a Whirlpool......Good luck with yours.
