How do I fix My Panasonic VCR?--It is a 4 Head/HI FI STEREO Omnivision VHS with the VCR Plus+ Silver system with commercial advance and movie advance--Model #PV-V4620?

When you put in a tape to play, the "tape carriage"? doesn't go all the way in and down. It seems to not want to play the tape and turns itself off after three tries at playing.
It won't fast forward at all and turns itself off and it rewinds for just a split second and then turns itself off.
Can anyone help?
