Vauxhall vectra headlamp levelling warning light wont turn off?

Hi I have a 2003 Vauxhall Vectra with automatically levelling headlamps. There is a warning light on the dash that looks like a dipped headlamp with a line through it. Vauxhall diagnostics say it was the automatic levelling sensor that needs
Replacing. We have done this, with a new part, but the lift has stayed on. Does this mean it is not working or dors the car have to go on a computer to get it turned off. Can anyone help?

after you replace a faulty part that has stored a code within the ecu, you need to plug the ecu into a reader to clear the code
