Why does the Battery go dead on Craftsman tractor?

Craftsman lawn tractor Model # 917.275682 Why does the battery go dead when tractor is running with the PTO engaged. When not engaged Amp meter shows charge. When engaged very little charge. New battery, new regulator. Will run indefinitely without PTO engaged

Because its pulling more Amps then the charger can put back in when PTO is on, check out the clutch or replace it. its going bad.
