what direction does the crankshaft nut come off?

my vauxhall zafira crankshaft pulley passed me in tesco car park.got new one but need help in finding out what direction it comes off.zafira 2.0 ltr diesel

looking towards engine from pulley side turn anticlock,i normally put socket and power bar on nut and swing engine by just small crank of ignition
