when i turn washer on close the door pick a program the door locks and the washer thinks its going cause the timer goes down but it does nowt

Check to see why there's no water going in - the first thing to happen is water entering the machine - very often the inlet valve solenoid fails - a relatively easy fix - but there could be other causes for no water - but it won't run without water.

The external water supply pipe will screw directly onto the inlet valve at the back of the machine.
