remote control?

how do you program the remote controls on a stannah 420 stairlift
richard, October 2013
Not a direct answer, but info on a Stannah model 420 remote that quit working.
My remote has a black plastic band around the top. New batteries didn't show any lights The fix:
Open the case - there's a clip under the batteries. try not to let it open until you turn it over with the buttons on top. Open the case and remove the button assy. There are four black contacts on the back. use a Q-tip and alcohol to clean these and those on circuit board.
Replace the button assy.-there are two nubs that fit into the circuit board-snap on the cover, add the batteries and it should light up and work the lift. Mine did.

Hi there this might be your answer to your problem..
The remote calling control batteries
will last about one year with average use.
When you press one of the arrow buttons, the
light around the buttons will tell you how much
power is in the battery.
Lights rotating Batteries OK
Lights on constantly Batteries low on power
– change batteries as
soon as possible
No light Batteries have no power
– change batteries
straight away
To change the batteries
Slide down and open the battery cover,
then insert the new batteries.
Each remote calling control takes three
AA batteries...If you have done this already and ok you will need to find the chair receiver for the remote controls sometimes on the back of chair or inside the chair cover this depends on the Model chair you got with the carriage when purchased...When you have located the receiver you will find two small pins on there with a blue jump plug..First you need to turn lift off on isolator switch on back of carriage then put the jump plug across 2 pins, once this is done switch lift back on and press each remote separately for about 6+ seconds, some receivers have L E Ds lights on them and will flash when accepting program in..any problems let us know........paul..
