Haven't worked much on these but another mechanic at work has one of these and has had a lot of electrical issues with it,namely central locking on one door and other guys I have spoken to say VW's are bad for electrical problems,right up there with Renaults and that is saying something,would get it onto a computer for a look at the various control modules and their faults,it is impossible on modern motors which have very complex electrics now to pinpoint faults.
