i have a vauxhall vectra 54 plate. 1.9 diesel 150bhp?

hi I have recently changed my alternator. and now my car is holding back spluttering sort of thing. ive changed diesel filter and air flow meter. but still spluttering I have no engine management lights on .. any ideas what this could be??
