How can I fix my "Cable & Wireless" SatNav system?

I have a "Cable & Wireless CWSNS 1000" Sat Nav unit which worked fine for a couple of weeks but cannot now receive a signal at all. Even with a remote outside antena nothing happens!
I have tried to contact the Manufacturer without success. I got this from an insurance company as a promotional gift.
Is there anything that can be done?

Thanks,
John Mears

Hi, I think you will find it will work fine on sunny days, but as cloud cover appears it wont work.

Hi ive had same problem ive tried a few different things
1) allow at at 30 mins for unit to locate sattelittes(this means turning on the unit & allowing both you & it time to find locations)
2) always use external anntenna & make sure you get the best one these can range from £9-£30
3) oh i forgot try resetting the unit ( there is a little button at the back just use the stylus to re set it)
4) Most important, bin it & get a new Maplins do one for about £70.00 also plays mp3s
