simpson dryer?

hi, cleaning a truck load of flint out of the inside of a dryer for a lady friend, when the tension spring came off. it is still connected to the motor, I think the other end is suppose to go down onto a white knob down near the wiring , is this true. I was looking for a picture but can't find one. thankyou in advance.

What model would help. If it has a white plastic piece in 2 halves with 2 wires attached then the spring hooks over that to pull the 2 halves together and make contact so heater will get hot. If belt breaks and contacts open the heater goes off to prevent a fire. If no such block then spring will hook in to a small hole on centre seam of floor.
