Fixing leak in DC04 hose, at wand end?

The flexible hose on my DC04 seems to have a small hole in it. The cleaner works fine, as long as I hold the hose into the cuff at the wand end, but I would prefer to remove the cuff, trim the hose and refit it all. It cannot be further than 50mm from the end of the hose.

How can I remove and refit the cuff at the wand end of teh flexible hose, please?

I just hacksawed the hose off the cuff at the point where the hole Is, which was fortunate as the hole was just about 1" back from there. I then got a pair of pliers and just pulled out the old part of the hose. Which is only glued in. Then I silicone the hose back in, and left it over night. As good as new but a little shorter.
