ignition problem?

recently when starting my Peugeot 206 cc I get a delayed turn over to start the engine. now today will not start all all....tried to start with jump leads no response. got an engine immobiliser fault. battery taken off and charged started okay but not got an engine pollutant fault light and no acceleration

How old is the battery? More than 5 years old it might be on its last legs. Is it the correct battery for the car? Should be 190mm tall, not the 175mm one for the hatchback. A lot of people fit the wrong one which causes connectivity problems.
