Is it possible to disable the immobiliser on my 1996 1.4 Megane?

Is it possible to disable the imobiliser on my 1996 1.4 Megane, I don't have the proper key & the immobiliser has cut the engine twice on me leaving me stranded, untill it clears after a few hours. Or is there a simple sollution to bypass this issue rather than forking out mega bucks for a new key???

There are websites where you can get an immobiliser bypass for £85. If not buy a cheap spares / repairs megane from ebay and swap the ECU, fusebox (from behind the battery) interior receiver and the keys. If you go to Renault this is approx £800 - thats why its cheaper to get a spares/repair and DIY!

I had same problem with my clio. Its possible to get keys at a scrapyard, Renault charge £35 for a recode.
