NISSAN ALMERA 2004 1.8 SXE IMMOBILISER FAULT?

The immobiliser indicator remains on when keys are inserted and engine will not start. The keys have been checked and reprogrammed by a Nissan dealer but the fault, which is intermittent, continues to occur. When the fault is present fiddling with the key "lock" and "unlock buttons clears the fault but it continues to occur. I suspect the NATS module may be faulty?

Hi Ted Allen, did NISSAN MECHANIC help you sort out your problem? I have the same issue on my Almera S

Dave, February 2008
turn the key in the ignition 6 times in 10 seconds. do with both keys. indicators should flash. start with each key after you have down this. then hold the lock button down and push the unlock 3 times and the indicators will flash. do with both keys. this should help fix it.
