Asko 7305 dryer loose wire, or bad control board??

Due to age and being moved out/in of a 24'" closet, the clips on the back of the faceplate are broken necessitating taping the cover to the machine. I can only get the machine to start if I wiggle the faceplate just so...sometimes it is good for awhile, sometimes it stops and I have to wiggle it more. Now I can't get it to start regardless how much shimmying I do. Since the clips on the back of the faceplate are broken and doesn't support the control board in position, I am wondering if just getting a new faceplate will solve the problem?
Or could it be the control board? Is there any way of testing a control board?

Thanks to all in advance...
