Hi, I have just been given a Challenge Extreme petrol lawn mower. Can anyone clarify if it is four stroke or two stroke as i suspect the latter but my friend didn't have any idea.

If the engine has an oil filler hole with a rudimentary dip-stick then it will be a 4 stroke.

If there is no filler hole it will be a 2 stroke

Engines for lawnmowers are usually made by specialist companies - Honda - Briggs & Stratton - some guys in China. In my experience they're always 4 stroke.
