How can I fix the front cover plate after removing excess water?

Have got Indesit IS70C clothes tumble drier and have just removed the excess water.But now the cover will not stay in place after finishing the job. The centre top 'clip' is just a pointed piece of plastic with no grip whatsoever. Help
