soft brake pedal?

Hi, the brake pedal in my skoda fabia has suddenly gone very soft. There is no obvious loss of brake fluid anywhere that I can see and there has been no recent work done to the braking system.
Any suggestions as to where to start looking for the non obvious ??

could be faulty rear adjuster mechanism, may be broken adjuster spring allowing it to slip letting adjustment off! or if fluid is low and no sign of a leak might be master cylinder leaking into servo?

If it has drums on the rear then I would have a look in there, you don`t say whether your brake fluid level is low or not,it may need to go onto a ramp for a proper inspection.
