replacing a fuel stop solenoid on ford transit 2000 2:0l?

my ford yreg transit rolls but does not engage, i have checked the simple stuff, checking the fuses, looking for a break in a wire, checking fuel is in the injectors and no air present, i have checked the fuel filter, i have disconnected the hose to the filter to bypass the filter to rule that out, nothing was being drawn into the pump...

i have heard there is a diaphragm somehere on the fuel filter that can get clogged or the fuel sop soleniod is naff... i have tried looking online but come up with nothing in the way of helpful advise as to how to remove the solenoid to eplace it

You may well do a lot better by posting the same question in a dedicated Transit forum.
