2002 Renault Master Handbrake Removal?

Hiya.
Can anyone tell me, if removing the front brake cable on the Renault Master is an easy job?
The adjuster nut has been rounded and the threaded bar is stripped. It looks to me, as if the fuel tank will need to be removed to gain access to the front brake cable.
