how to play over a recorded cassette?

I have a recorded cassette tape and I would like to record over it. Is there a way to do it?

Yes. Cassettes have record prevention tabs along the back edge that can be snapped off to prevent a tape being recorded over.

On a pre recorded tape, these will have already been removed. All you need to do is put something over the holes.

Look at the back edge of the cadette and compare it with the back edge of a recordable cassette. You should see a small square cutout at either end of the back of the pre-recorded cassette. The records or one should have similar holes which are blocked up by a removable tab.

Just pop a piece of Sellotape over these holes and you will be able to record over the tape.
