How can I mend my Tefal ProExpress Total Control Iron GV8962?

I have a Tefal GV8962 Pro Express Total Control Iron. It has been excellent but last time I turned it on it had steam pouring out the sole plate, which would not stop. It was perfectly fine when I used it 12 hours earlier. Is this something I can fix myself?
