Fordson starter solenoid?

Fordson Power major, starter solenoid. Bought new solenoid but did not take notice of connections. Two large brass connections assume from battery and to starter motor. Small connection? Help please

Solenoid fitted, supply grom battery attached, lead to starter motor connected. No lights on dash when key turned! We gace a wire from the loom thst has a large connection but we dont know were it goes? Any help appreciated

From the starter switch.
As you guess, the big terminals take the high current supply from the battery and switch it to the starter motor.
The solenoid has to "know" when to do that. There will be a wire from the ignition switch that is energised when the switch is in the "Start" position.
The negative connection to complete the circuit is simply via the body of thexsolenoid, once it is bolted in place.
