`HELLO THERE!!! I HAVE A DELL FLATSCREEN MONITOR THAT WONT TURN ON. IV HAD IT FOR A FEW YEARS SO MAYBE ITS F***ED. WHEN I POWER UP MY PC IT FLASHES ON FOR A SPLIT SEC THEN GOES BLANK. IF ANY1 HAS ANY IDEAS GIVE ME A SHOUT PLEASE........ CHEERS!!!!!

Sounds like the screen inverter that powers up the lamps to the screen has failed. Check for faulty caps and transistors. on inverter board, normally separate with wires for the lamps connecting. Test capacitors with moving coil meter for leakage. also check for bulging misshaped caps, dry joints and voltage regulator.
