How can I run System Restore when the shortcut to this is missing?

I need to roll back to a previous Restore Point, but ironically the problem I am trying to fix is that I have lost all my Program Shortcuts. (So I can't launch System Restore.)

I am using Windows XP Home.

turn pc on press f8 or the ctrl button on key board choose the option for safe mode and choose system restore you will be able to carryout the system restore in this mode just choose it the same way you would no anormal system restore

if you reinstall the start up disc it repairs any missing links if u dont have the start up discs u could try looking for a firewall like norton they have system restore facilies in the advanced options when configuring

Click on your Start Button. Select Run. Type "msconfig". Press Ok.
When the System Configuration window opens press the Launch System Restore Button.
