fiesta clutch problem?

i recently drove my daughters fiesta,and there seems to be a problem with the clutch.on using the clutch it engages very early making the car jump....daughter says she,s used .it was not like this when bought........whats the problem?

ensure all 3 parts of the clutch are replaced . pressure plate , disc and thrust bearing.

she informs me the clutch has been like this for at least 18 months know.......the car is used everyday.........could it be a faulty adjuster?
