The motor spins but the needle doesn't move?

Hi, I have a Brother XL2010 and it works great. In fact I was using it and all of a sudden, the needle component won't move. I can move the tension myself and it goes but press the foot petal and nothing happens. What can I do to fix this problem?

Do you have a wirring noise coming from the motor when you press the foot control ? does the balance wheel move when you press the foot control ?
