i recently dropped my laptop with the usb still connected, and the usb disconnected from the circuit board completely, so i asked my teacher to solder it back on. but it still doesnt work - it says it recognised a usb mass storage thing but when clicked on it says pls insert, also light comes on but doesnt flash like it usually does!!! VERY important documents are on there for my coursework n shizza so was just wondering if there was any way possible to get the information from the usb??? the memory board (the square thing on the end??) is not damaged neither is anything else i dont think. hi. same thinng happened to me. You can find companies that will repair it, but cheapest i found is £80! Here is a link that shows you how to repair it yourself, but I dont think i could do it. good luck
